Bio

I was born in Painesville, Ohio and have lived for a short time in most of the states up and down the east coast. I recently graduated with a Ph.D. in Ergonomics from the Department of Psychology at North Carolina State University. I've also received a Master of Arts in Experimental Psychology at East Carolina University and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh.

I frequently get two responses to my engineering psychology degree: (1) "Oh, psychology! What am I thinking?" and (2) "You mean like ergonomic chairs, right?"
Sadly, I have to explain that my research has nothing to do with either of those responses. Therefore, I explain that it's more accurately termed Engineering Psychology and I quote my favorite definition:
The study of how humans accomplish work-related tasks in the context of human-machine system operation, and how behavioral and non-behavioral variables affect that accomplishment. -- Meister, 1989

Blog

I've always thought online journals are an oxymoron, probably because: (1) diaries should be a private outlet and have no place online and (2) who wants to read random thoughts about random subjects by some random stranger. However, it's so popular (again why?) that I'd thought I'd post a blog and see how many people actually read my random thoughts about random subjects.

So if you want to get sucked into reading my random thoughts go ahead and check out my blog.

Some of My Interests

Collections:
I'm a fan of dragonflies, so I do a lot of decorating with them.
I love to read and have developed a database of all of the books I've read.

Computers

I enjoy Web design and computer programming, and therefore, I frequently experiment with different types of programming. Often I use this domain for testing various designs and programs, so don't worry if you come across something that isn't working.
